Team Miller travels South

Wally had to go to Stone Mountain, GA. last week for business and the kids and I tagged along to for a little R&R. I wish I could tell you I relaxed, but I don't think we stopped for 10 minutes the whole 5 days! We had a great time at Stone Mountain. That place was the perfect spot for my boys: hiking trails, rock climbing, duck boats, and sky hikes. Trust me I am exhausted from it all. Now I remember visiting the Georgia Herron's as a kid and walking up Stone Mountain, but I am fairly sure when I climbed the mountain, it was not in July and it wasn't 95 degrees out! So the kids and I took the trolley to the top. However, there were a few enthusiasts that dared hike the 1+ mile uphill trek and let me tell you, they were sprawled out in a sweaty heap all over the top of that mountain.

We spent our last night in Georgia in downtown Atlanta at the Peachtree Westin on the 62nd floor. Yes, you read that right, the 62nd floor! We were way up there. Our hotel was a block or so from Centennial Park where the Olympics were held in '96. It was a super busy place and we were lucky to get into the Coca Cola Museum later in the afternoon. We really enjoyed the museum and the kids were mesmerized by everything. At the end of the tour you get to go to the tasting area and sample over 60 different coke products from around the world. Let me tell you, some countries drink some nasty stuff! My favorite new drink is Pineapple Fanta.

My favorite part of the trip was getting to visit my Uncle Dave, Aunt Judy, Cousin Sydney, and her baby boy Langdon. They took my family out to eat at very nice restaurant that primarily is known for Bison. It was actually very good and much leaner than cow beef.

Anyway, we made it back home and I only need to hang on another week or so and school will start. My patience is wearing very thin at this point in the summer, so I am literally counting the days.

We made it to the top!
The boys got to drive the duck boats
(BTW the captain was Ruben Studdard's cousin. Ruben from American Idol.)
The sky hike (I was freaking out!) This was only the first level.
Rock Climbing (That is Sean and I am still freaking out!)
Having a ball at the park
